What you need to know for our guided tours:
Reservations: Reservations are required for all tours and can be made online or by calling our office at 302 539-7999.
Cancellation Policy:
To ensure the best experience possible, Coastal Kayak limits the number of participants per tour. For this reason, it is necessary for us to incorporate the following cancellation policy: Groups of 4 or more must cancel at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled tour to receive a refund. Groups of 3 or fewer must cancel at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled tour. This goes for all members of your party. In the event that you do not cancel within this time period, you will not receive a refund. Thank you for understanding!
Cancellation due to weather:
Coastal Kayak reserves the right to cancel any tour at any time if we feel that the weather or conditions present an unsafe situation. Any tours cancelled due to weather will result in a refund to all participants. We do not cancel tours in the event of light rain or drizzle. If thunder or lightening is present, we will cancel the tour. We are very knowledgeable about the areas where we do the tours. Sometimes it may be sunny where you are, but we know there is a thunderstorm moving towards the tour location and vice versa. We make the call on the weather. If you are not comfortable with this, we suggest that you wait closer to the time of the tour to make your reservation.
What to Bring:
Make sure to wear clothes and shoes that can get wet. You will definitely be getting your feet wet! It’s a good idea to bring a long sleeve shirt or light jacket, sunglasses, hat, water, sunscreen, and a snack. Please let us know if you are bringing a camera as we have dry bags that you may borrow for the tour.
What you need to know for rentals:
We strongly urge all participants to wear foot protection for all of the activities that we offer. You never know what is going to be on the bottom and you never know when you made need to or want to get out of your vessel. As such, it is best to have something on your feet so you don’t cut yourself on glass, or a sharp shell, or a submerged branch, etc. Flip-flops are better than nothing but water shoes, teva-type sandals, or old sneakers are the best options.
Other good items to bring:
- comfortable clothing that can get wet
- sunglasses (polarized are best so that you can see in the water)
- sunscreen
- clothing layers appropriate for the temperature
- hat
- drinking water
- snacks
- dry bag for valuables (we also rent them for $1)
- did we mention – FOOT PROTECTION!
Please note: All participants must sign an assumption of risk and release of liability form. Children under the age of 18 must sign the form along with a parent or legal guardian.
