Assateague Backcountry Exploration

Time: 7:30am – 2:30pm

Assateague Island National Seashore, a barrier island, is completely protected and totally wild. There aren’t many places like it left in our world. Take the time necessary to explore it as it truly deserves! We’ll paddle south from Old Ferry Landing, quickly leaving the crowds behind and entering into a world populated by herons, skates, osprey, wild horses, and blue crabs. We’ll cover about 3-4 miles of uninhabited beaches and salt marshes before turning around and paddling back to civilization.

While all our other tours are great for beginners, our Assateague Backcountry Exploration tour is not suitable for beginner paddlers. Participants must have prior kayaking experience. We don’t allow tandem kayaks on this trip – only single kayaks.
