Before attempting this, you will want to have a very solid base of kayaking skills under your belt. You should have killer bracing and edging skills. You should be very comfortable with wet exits and self-rescues. A roll is, of course, even better. And you should have spent a good amount of time standing on the beach, studying waves and sets and beach styles. In other words, this is not for beginners!
